LAN Transformer Application

The LAN Transformer will transform the electrical signals needed to transmit data through a network cable. The LAN Transformer is designed for use with 10/100Base-T Fast Ethernet or 10BaseFL Fiber-Optic connections and complies with the ANSI/IEEE 802.3 specifications. This LAN Transformer uses coaxial cables, but also includes an adapter for use in 100BaseTX connections.

A Lan Transformer is also used to protect equipment inside the computer and other electrical devices when they are damaged by surges. It is a common misconception that all these devices have built-in circuit breakers that can prevent electrical power surges from reaching their internal circuits. In fact, many of these devices have no such protection. Electricity is shared between the main electrical grid and individual homes through large power lines crisscrossing cities and rural areas. When those lines carry a surge of electricity from a lightning storm or another source of high voltage, for example, it can damage or destroy sensitive electronic appliances inside homes, causing fires and loss of property.
